The first round of the 8 leg Super Production Cup series was held indoors on carpet at the superb Ardent Raceway facility near Castle Donnington in Derbyshire. The series combines Mini, F1 and Touring Car classes and with a strong turnout for the only indoor round in the series, the control motors, wheels and tyres would deliver some very close racing.

The series has been organised by Martin Reeder and Stephen Fabray who in previous years have been the team behind the Tamiya Eurocup series in the UK. Following its demise, the series has been revived in the form of the Super Production Cup supported by Much-More Racing UK, HPI and Comet RC. The series comprises the following classes with full results on the SPC website soon. - Much-More Clubman Mini Challenge - Team Magic Stock TC Challenge - HPI F1 Challenge
The Much-More Clubman Mini Challenge uses a Much-More clubman handout motor and a unique control wheel/tyre/insert combination only used by the Super Production Cup. Stuart Colby was always the man to catch (and no one did!) so he claimed both finals and the overall win with his M05. Richard Isherwood seemed to battle through qualifying making a lot of changes to his M05 and was rewarded with 2nd place. Simond Simmons had a busy day running in the F1 class as well but that did not distract from his mini racing, taking 3rd place.

Marcus Askell, Mark Bristow and Sam Hopper were the 1, 2, 3 in the Team Magic Stock class, with the 17.5 control brushless system delivering some close race for the touring cars.

The HPI F1 Challenge was split into two sections, segregating the HPI F10 cars from other F1's including the 3Racing F109 and Tamiya F1s. Chris Clark, Stan Chodzzynski and Dez Chand were the top 3 in the F10 class.
The F1 open class went to Alan Harland with his F104 who managed to hold of Dez Chand running a F109. Andy Web took 3rd place running an F104.
A couple of trophies were handed out to Richard Clarke for 'most courteous driver' and Jon Isherwood for 'top marshall'
Thank you to the team at SPC and the Ardent Raceway for organising and hosting the first round of what will be one of the most popular series of 2010.
