Round 3 After some very close racing today, round 3 is now finished and all results can be found on Central Booking: here. Race report should follow soon, aswell as all the pictures from today - please see the Rug Racers dedicated website here. A good quality entry lined up for round three of this years Rug Racers series sponsored by Muchmore UK, the entry included a number of Muchmore team drivers and top UK national drivers. In the fast open modified class Chris Grainger, Elliott Harper and Olly Jefferies headed the entry and it was these three that battled it out for FTD, Chris’ Schumacher was looking good for top spot but then in the final run of qualifying Elliott beat Chris and took top spot for the A final ahead of Chris and Olly. In the Pro Stock class there was a win from pole for Ricky Copsey and in the stock class there was an outright win for Philip Randal ahead of Mr Rug Racers himself Malcolm Hall. The open modified cars looked spectacular on the Woodson Park track and following three legs of the A final it was the Associated TC5 of Olly Jefferies that took a surprise victory ahead of Elliott Harper and Schumacher’s Matt White.

The TOP Photon team were out in numbers for the event and Brian Eldridge, Richard King, Steve, Henry, Jordon Howe, Mark Young, Tom Jefferies and others all put in some great performances. The team is coming together nicely and are aiming to make an impact at next years nationals, the Photon is surprising many and is tipped to be the top new kid on the block next season, in the mean time the team are working with set ups and getting to know the car a little better. Richard King's Photon makes the podium in TC2

The next round of the Muchmore Rug Racers series takes place on the 3rd January and entries are still available through Central Booking. |
