Muchmore Drivers Dominate at BRCA Final RoundThe final round of this years BRCA 1:10 scale Electric Touring Car Championship took place at the weekend and saw Muchmore UK drivers leading the way. The venue was the Mendip track near Weston-Super-Mare, a venue not visited by the series for some years, but great seaside weather added to the end of season party feel as drivers got together for the last meeting of the 2009.
Already crowned championship Chris Grainger set the pace in qualifying with his Schumacher Mi4, Chris secured pole position for the A final with three straight fastest times on Saturday. Ben Cosgrove was next up for Hot Bodies narrowly edging out the Associated TC5 of Muchmore team mate Olly Jefferies. Elliott Harper completed the top five with his X-Ray, Matt White splitting Olly and Elliott with his Mi4.
In the three leg finals Chris got off to a winning start taking leg one ahead of Olly, Ben’s challenge suffering a set back on the first corner as the Cyclone half spun going into the first fast sweeper. Chris repeated his good form in leg two and once again it was Olly Jefferies second. Preventing a Chris getting a clean sweep of A finals Ben Cosgrove spoilt his party taking the third leg, once again Olly was second.
So it was another win for already crowned champion Chris Grainger, Olly Jefferies was next up with Matt White third, Olly was not able to improve on his third in the championship which finished with Chris taking the title ahead of Andy Moore with Olly finishing third.
