Sun 30/05/10 @ 08:30 A few drivers practicing with wet cars as the rain is similar to Saturday morning just now - let's hope the day brightens up as the weather is not looking good. Sun 30/05/10 @ 10:30 Superpole just finished with Keiran Smart heading up the pack, followed by Dan Rowlands and Tom Jefferies. Tom's car top of the straight on a wet track!
Sun 30/05/10 @ 11:30 Dan Rowlands (Photon) heads up the pack at the end of Round 1 with 15 laps in 317.5. The track is very wet with rain all morning. Cameron Macdonald is in 2nd with Ron Paterson in 3rd. Sun 30/05/10 @ 12:10 Tom Jefferies (Associated) is fastest after Round 2 with 15 laps in 314.16. Dan Rowlands is in 2nd place (15/317.50) and Cameron Macdonald in 3rd. Top heat, Rd2 battle it out in testing conditions.
The very wet conditions have drastically reduced the field with only 15 or so racers currently contending the title out. Around 10 drivers booked in and are still holding off racing in the hope of better weather. Sun 30/05/10 @ 13:30. Dramatic change in weather after round 3 of qualifying with the track starting to dry quickly. Blue sky and sun shine now that would have been welcomed 4 hours earlier before many racers decided not to run. In addition to the changing weather and a good mood all around the pits, some racers had another reason to smile, winning some great prizes in the raffle draw including a 2wd buggy and a F1 car. Most drivers stuck to wet tyres for the first of the two round finals changing to slicks for the second round. Exciting A finals saw the experienced Associated Team of Tom Jefferies and Cameron Macdonald hold off the rapid car of Dan Rowlands, who with no National BRCA experience drove spectacularly well to gain 3rd place overall with his Top Photon. A huge thank you to ALL the Stonehaven team who worked very hard all weekend and all the racers who took part on Saturday and Sunday. We hope you had an enjoyable weekend despite the rain on Sunday morning! See you at the next rounds in Northern Ireland at Ballymoney in July and then Carlisle in August. |
